The MSWA Ocean Ride - Powered by Retravision is fun for everyone, even if you don’t feel like jumping on your bike!

Come and join us bright and early on Perth’s beautiful coastline as we send off our fantastic riders completing the 10km Family Ride and 30km, 50km, 70km and 100km courses.

With volunteering locations at Fremantle, Hillarys or along the course, this event suits everyone. Job roles include helping set up and pack down the event, registering our participants, marshalling our riders along the course and helping out at the finish line handing out medals & fruit to participants.

If this event sounds like the one for you, we would love for you to join our team! Just select the 'Register as a volunteer' button below to sign-up for the 2017 MSWA Ocean Ride.

Meet our volunteers!

Rebecca will be volunteering at the 2017 MSWA Ocean Ride - see what she had to say about why she volunteers with MSWA.

"My mum has MS - she was diagnosed 8 years ago with primary progressive multiple sclerosis. MSWA have helped her in so many ways, from everyday activities to having care workers morning and night. So, I have chosen to give back by donating my time! I volunteered at this year's MSWA Annual Dinner Auction in August and met some wonderful people and knew that I was helping to raise vital funds for MSWA. I'll also be volunteering at the 2017 MSWA Ocean Ride, so why not contact the MSWA Events Team and join me as a volunteer! You'll help make a real difference to thousands of people living with MS and all neurolological conditions - people just like my mum."

Get your Club Involved

We have a fundraising opportunity available for your club, should you have any members who are interested in volunteering. With over 100km of road to cover, we require an army of marshals on the day to direct participants and spectators. Marshals are our eyes and ears on the ground and assist with keeping the course clear of debris, obstacles and spectators when participants are approaching. Marshals must have the ability and confidence to direct participants and spectators in a safe manner.

Marshals must be over 16 years and will:

  • receive a full event and safety briefing before the event by MSWA staff and event co-organisers.
  • be allocated a central meeting point on event day. Note that volunteers may be required to drive 5-10km from this point once they have been briefed.
  • be provided with a hi-vis safety vest and important event information, including course maps, key contact sheets, etc.
  • be covered by MSWA’s public liability and personal accident insurance for volunteers.

This is a great way for your club to be a part of this fantastic event and also earn money for new equipment. If your club would like to join our MSWA Ocean Ride Support Crew please let us know how many volunteers you can provide and which area you would like to volunteer at.
